Dog Psalm #28
When I am still
I can hear a great, quiet voice
gently remind me
Fear not, all is as it should be.
I do not need to cling or run.
Acceptance is the path to peace.

Dog Psalm #20
I reside along side The Great Spirit.
Sunday Mountain is our abode.
The sky is our window on heaven.
Grace is the snow that sparkles beneath our feet.
In the solace of silence faith is recovered.

Dog Psalm #19
Bathe in the light.
Catch rays at every opportunity
on brilliant winter mornings or in the glooming.
Rest in it.
Restore in it.
Restore in it.
Those moments when the Great Spirit
can touch you with beams of
warmth, strength, hope.
warmth, strength, hope.
Moments of recognition and hope that
energize your spirit
Light is a source that can cause
your aura to glow.
Embrace and allow it.
Go forth and illuminate.

Dog Psalm for Haiti
May humanity save us all.
May grace lift our spirits
and courage accompany us
those trapped and suffering,
those rescuing and hindered.
those trapped and suffering,
those rescuing and hindered.
May we not be voyeurs to suffering
but solutions to catastrophes.
May we each
all that we can.
May helpers embrace humility.
Haiti is our teacher. Her lesson?
How to begin, yet, again. And again, again.
Great and Holy Spirit
be constantly present with us.
We call upon you.
Haiti is our teacher. Her lesson?
How to begin, yet, again. And again, again.
Great and Holy Spirit
be constantly present with us.
We call upon you.

Dog Psalm #18
After all the feasting,
the giving and receiving,
comes the time for reflecting and resting
and deciding how best to carry the Spirit of the season
throughout the new year

Thanksgiving
Let there be gravy and community.
Let there be laughter and music.
Let there be feasting and grazing
and generous table scrap giving.
I am grateful for kindness, comfort and care.
Grateful for naps in the big comfy chair.

Dog Psalm 16: Three Wise Women
A great wind began to blow and howl.
The night was ink black with one piercing star lighting the way.
The three wise women knew it was time to begin a long journey
towards a great unknown. They ventured forth on faith.
They knew they had arrived at their destination when they discovered
the seed babe resting on a birch bark blanket.
Behold. The savior has arrived.
He reaches out for us to tell us

Dog Psalm 15: The power of Myth
WONDERING
How could a mouse carry that enormous
4 armed
man-elephant-deity
He's hardly 4 inches tall.
He's remarkably sturdy even without feet
but still...
How is it possible? How can I believe?
OH! He's a God in his own right,
an agent of transformation.
That's why he wears the fancy coat
and always brings something to offer.
He does smell sacred.

Dog Psalm 14
God is here.
In this stone wall.
In the mind that planned it.
In the hands that made it.
In the hands that made it.
In the earth that it holds.
In the people and animals who pass by
and those who stop to rest or play.
In the rain that will wash it.
In the snow that will fall on it.
In the snow that will fall on it.
In the sun that dries it.
In our moments together.
In our moments together.
I find you, Great Spirit, everywhere.
Or is it that you find me?
I am so grateful for your nearness.
Or is it that you find me?
I am so grateful for your nearness.

Dog Psalm #11
Dear Creator,
I send to you and to all who might hear and heed
Jane Goodall's words,
"If only we can over come cruelty, to human and animal,
with love and compassion we shall stand at the threshold
of a new era in human moral and spiritual evolution -
and realize, at last, our most unique quality: humanity"

Dog Psalm #10
Creator and Ruler of mankind,
we pray
for our humanity
that a new life
may be established
in the way of Good.
That all hatred and malice,
all indifference to the suffering of others,
all narrow exclusiveness and selfish greed
may be swept away
by a breath of Spirit,
and that
Public Spirit,
honor and justice,
cooperation in service,
and self sacrifice
for the good
of the whole people
may flourish
abundantly
among
us.
For this we pray.

Dog Psalm #9
Great Spirit,
I saw you on Sunday Mountain.
I saw you on Sunday Mountain.
You bathed me in rain.
You warmed me with the sun.
You watched over me as I slept in the bossom of my family.
Thank you for wonderful, rejuvenating days.

Sunday Dog Psalm #8
Great Spirit:
It is believed, and not just by me, that
my dew claw is a thumb waiting to happen.
I understand I must accomplish my dog life before I return with thumbs.
I must watch and learn.
Love and communicate without speech.
In my next incarnation when I will be a human
please guide me Great Spirit
in transferring my canine-ly, devine
understanding of humanity.
Don't let my thumbs undo me.
