Snow is Good

Snow.  How I love it!
It refreshes, it cleans, it is delicious.
This is how I hug snow.

Snow Day

There is nothing sweeter
than to be the first one to make tracks around the house.

Dog Psalm #31

The first day of Spring is one thing.
And the first Spring day is another.
The difference between them can be as great as a month.
In these days of longer light
bask in the sun when it can be found.
Watch for the bud and the sprouting seed
and despite any snow or mischievous sleet
believe...believe.

A Long March

The wintry weather drags on and on
beneath a dull grey sky.
The dirty snow mound means the snowplow guy
has scraped up the road along with the snow.
Hey Buddy, leave the road. We need the road.

Watch the roof line

It will unexpectedly dump an ice berg bigger than you.
But it's worth navigating the hazards for the view.

Too Deep

Winter marches on
the snow is too deep for walks
 when I open my eyes
PLEASE let it be spring

Cabin Fever

I can't seem to rub the grumpy off of me.
I'm sick of winter.

Blizzard

We got Sneaky Snow
Those tiny flakes that you barely notice at first
and then unexpectedly while your snoozing on the couch
they turn into a white-out.
This is the kind of snow that creeps in on cat feet.
If you listen closely you can hear those little snowy feet.
I like to search for those first flakes
that got the whole thing going
and then wear them on my muzzle.
When the snow is up to your ears
you need someone to shovel you a trail.
Keep shoveling!
I like a nice long walk and
plenty of room for my desires.

White Christmas

A few days ago I passed by the Santa tree and
he said that I would get my wish.
It would be a white christmas.

I was tempted not to believe him.  But trees never lie.

Overnight we got more than a foot
with drifts as high as three feet.

It's a winter wonderland!!

Ho. Ho. Ho.
Do I look like Santa with my snow beard?
I feel like him full of good cheer and happiness.

Snow is Joy

Surrounding, abounding Joy.
Joy covering every thing -
every sorrow, every hurt
every branch and blade of grass.
Floating and piling,
pelting out Joy.
In crunchy steps,
That quiet hush,
The sloshy slush,
Announcing, insisting on Joy.
Snow is a shower of
Grace or Forgiveness.
Presenting us with
new realities,
perspectives and possibilities.
SNOW

How I Love Thee.
