My doggy UMWELT

What it is like...
It is close to the ground...
It is lickable...
It either fits in the mouth or is too big for the mouth...
It is full of details...
It is in the moment...
It is fleeting and fast...
It is written all over their faces...

It reads like a poem but the text above is an excerpt
from the table of contents of
Dog ear a page or two for your person
so they may better understand and learn from you.

Dog Psalm #19

Bathe in the light.
Catch rays at every opportunity
on brilliant winter mornings or in the glooming.
Rest in it.
Restore in it.
Those moments when the Great Spirit
can touch you with beams of
warmth, strength, hope.

Moments of recognition and hope that
energize your spirit

Light is a source that can cause
your aura to glow.
Embrace and allow it.
Go forth and illuminate.

The Golden Chair

It was more than a decade ago that she found the golden chair
on a morning walk with another dog before I was even born.

I can feel her in this chair.
All her hours in it over the years.
The journeys she's made in it.
I journey in it too.
Watching the world,

considering the consequences.

Hedgeburt

is a pincushion hedgehog
as is his pal Hank.
 They are handy but prickly.

Kiss them gently, hug them softly.

I was dreaming

about waffles

and fried chicken.
Let's have some.

Dog Psalm for Haiti

May humanity save us all.
May grace lift our spirits
and courage accompany us
those trapped and suffering,
those rescuing and hindered.
May we not be voyeurs to suffering
but solutions to catastrophes.
May we each
all that we can.

May we recognize and respond to the fact that
Haiti will need our support for many years to come.
May helpers embrace humility.
Haiti is our teacher. Her lesson?
How to begin, yet, again. And again, again.

Great and Holy Spirit
be constantly present with us.
We call upon you.

Penguin Line Up

Hey Man,

I'm telling you the truth.
I'm just incubating this egg.

Oh man come on.

Frog-golye

 Gets inside a book.

Visits with art. Takes the time to look.

Hey, I think that's my Grandpa.

Esmerelda

is a seer

who doesn't suffer fools gladly.

She dispatches Pierre
her trustworthy man-servant;
'Go tell them the truth -
Expect more harsh conditions.'

Storm Watch

First I felt it, then I saw it gathering.

It crept in on cat feet.

and passed through as quietly as coyotes.

Smile Detection

Something bad happened to the camera. Now the LED screen shows a spider web of cracks and big jagged black spot.  So it seemed time to shop for a new camera.  And that is when we discovered a new technology called "face detection" that senses when the smile is most natural.
More and more life is like a Ray Bradbury story.

In the above photo I'm fake smiling.
And in the photo below I'm smirking.

Would a new camera have "allowed" it?
Maybe we can just power on with the broken LED?

Three Little Maids

Three little maids from school are we
Pert as a school-girl well can be
Filled to the brim with girlish glee
Three little maids from school
Everything is a source of fun
Nobody's safe, for we care none
Life is a joke that's just begun
Three little maids from school

Three little maids who, all unwary
Come from a ladies' seminary
Freed from its genius tutelary
Three little maids from school.
