Eight Legs

Hey Roy

So there was this big black lab down at the job site.
All day my people played with him.
"Here Roy. Down Roy. No Roy. Catch Roy. Good Boy Roy!"
Then his person called him to get into the truck -
"Come Smokey!"
Smokey?
Apparently his person had said "Here Boy"
and my people thought he said "Hey Roy."
Go figure.
But Roy is a good dog name.

Down Dog

Oh, did you mean "down dog" as in "get down off the bed?"
Well then how do you feel about a "puppy pose" on the yoga mats?
When I yoga I like to Svaroopa.
Why not let gravity do the work?

Dog Psalm 27

My business is not to remake myself,
but make the absolute best of what God made.

The Golden Chair

It was more than a decade ago that she found the golden chair
on a morning walk with another dog before I was even born.

I can feel her in this chair.
All her hours in it over the years.
The journeys she's made in it.
I journey in it too.
Watching the world,

considering the consequences.

Curb your Enthusiasm

That's what the people tell me.
They also say that it's fine to be
marking, marking, marking all the time.

If I use good manners.
The curbside strip is best.  The gutter even better.
PLEASE no gifts by cars!

HEY!
I'm happy to oblige.
Maybe you'll notice and want me to play in your fenced back yard.
A little water would be good.
Might you have any KaChewKees to share?
Oops. Too much enthusiasm?

Dreaming of Elephants

I had a beautiful dream about a friendly elephant

whose "Big Top" was the clothes pin can.

Dreams can come true.

Zzzzst

I'd heard of stray dogs but not "stray voltage".
Who knew that street and traffic lights, fire call boxes, phone booths, manhole covers, service boxes, and even decorative lighting can harbor stray voltage.
Don't let your "marking" be your undoing.
Avoid the ZAP.  Stay off metal!

Shake without splatter

"The ground is muddy
I run free, after the rain
bath-time is fun"
annon. dog haiku

The water color tells the tale. It WAS time for a bath.

Now Roxy can cruise around the house,
shaking to her heart's content
without splattering walls or people or furniture
as she gets every little hair back to its proper place.

While looking and feeling great in her
stylish sangria sunset
bathrobe.

Dog mannequins at it again!

Sure they can "model"
if you want to call it that

but what good are they in action shots?

Go see a professional in action
