Strong

I have to wear such a big lead
because I am incredibly strong for my size.
My spirit is big my body is smallish.

Three Little Maids

Three little maids from school are we
Pert as a school-girl well can be
Filled to the brim with girlish glee
Three little maids from school
Everything is a source of fun
Nobody's safe, for we care none
Life is a joke that's just begun
Three little maids from school

Three little maids who, all unwary
Come from a ladies' seminary
Freed from its genius tutelary
Three little maids from school.

Dog Psalm 15: The power of Myth

WONDERING

How could a mouse carry that enormous
4 armed
man-elephant-deity

He's hardly 4 inches tall.
He's remarkably sturdy even without feet
but still...
How is it possible? How can I believe?

an agent of transformation.

That's why he wears the fancy coat
and always brings something to offer.

He does smell sacred.

Ikebana

Hey Tiny Acorn Lady, I hear we are being moved to the flower display in the hallway.
It's that pushy Reindeer isn't it Pine Cone Penguin.  He's always horning in on the centerpieces.

Dog Psalm 14

God is here.
In this stone wall.

In the mind that planned it.
In the hands that made it.
In the earth that it holds.
In the people and animals who pass by
and those who stop to rest or play.
In the rain that will wash it.
In the snow that will fall on it.
In the sun that dries it.
In our moments together.

I find you, Great Spirit, everywhere.
Or is it that you find me?
I am so grateful for your nearness.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

The "Magic Happens Garden" is all dressed up for Halloween,

Los Dias de los Muertos and All Souls Day as well it seems.
Because if you look closely you'll find amidst
the scarecrow gal, ghost gulch decorations
and a trinity of perfect leaf piles in the gutter
a "Rest In Peace" tombstone for a furry loved one, Daisey

and there is another RIP and tribute for beloved Jay-
"father, uncle, companion, friend".
I think Daisey and Jay are together, joyfully reunited and busy
making the brilliant blue sky a little brighter
and helping loved ones put smiles on their pumpkins.

Sunday Dog Psalm

Today I found a tiny, lovely, baby bird.
Departed.
I rolled on it to honor it.
I am not frightened by death. I am curious.
I do not look away, dismiss, or avert my sensibilities. I hone in.
I investigate
gutters, leaves,
the under carriage of shrubs, grubs,
garbage and trash
to find the source of the scent.
The scent that informs me of life - its tenacity and fragility.
Whoever or whatever you were, I want to know your "ness".
Do not fear. Death is but one more leg of the journey of existence.

Your destiny is the beauty of the universe.
