Open the door to possibility and wonder.

Pinecone Pets

Even the woodland creatures have pets.

Because everybody needs a friend 

who is steadfast, loyal and true.

Seeking

without consenting to lose sight of the shore 

for a very long time." Andre Gide

I always keep one eye open

determined not to miss the first appearance of land.

The Golden Chair

It was more than a decade ago that she found the golden chair

on a morning walk with another dog before I was even born.

I can feel her in this chair.

All her hours in it over the years.

The journeys she's made in it.

I journey in it too.

Watching the world,

considering the consequences.
